SAPPHO - - the magazine of verse REFLECTIONS Long veils of moss hang down above the pool, And twilight dwells upon the surface here Where swollen lilies float. The ancient weird Is slimy. Though the rising mists are cool Against my face, and peace and moonlight rule The forest - - I am dazed by sudden fear; I kneel, with madly beating heart, and peer Into the mirrored visage of a ghoul!
