THE LAST PAGE THE TO-HELL-WITH-EVERYTHING DEPT. By W. MILDEW DANNER [[image text]] Fig. 1066 O. S. Kennerley [[end image text]] I SHOULD HAVE mentioned in Dith that beginning with this issue Stefantasy will be privately mailed to active members of NAPA, though it will continue to be included in VAPA mailings. The reason isn't hard to imagine. The January edition was 455 copies; this one is 214. The smaller edition, of course, has no effect upon the tyopography and little upon presswork, but any reduction in folding and stapling is ore than welcome, since to me they are particularly unpleasant and back-breaking labor. The lower paper cost is also in favor of a small edition, and -- I got 14 acknowledgements of the January issue from the almost 350 members of NAPA. Beecher Ogden seems to think this is a little better than the average response, but it's only about 4 1/2%, and most of the cards and letters were from active members. I've seen some arguments lately in favor of distribution only through the bundles. While some of them are good arguments they haven't convinced me that I should spend the time and money to make copies of Stef for 300-odd people who are to me nothing but names on a membership list, who will not spend a penny and a couple of minutes to say what they think of it. I see no reason for acknowledging every issue, but I would like to hear at least once from any NAPA member who wants to keep on getting Stef. And-- while this is reminiscent of the Irishman who wrote, "P.S. If you don't receive this letter let me know."--if you don't get Stef and want to, drop me a card. 22 STEFANTASY
