January 16, 1946 My dearest Carroll, Hi darling! Carroll, do the articles in the newspaper & the news casts mean you may be home sometime in April? You don't know how I hope & pray that it does. I get so happy and excited thinking about it I can hardly control myself. Darling, darling, to think that before very long we can start our life together. I love you so very very much. It comes from the very bottom of my heart. So few words can hold so much meaning. I wish I could fully express how very much I love you but there just aren't words to fulfill it. My love for you will always be this way honey. I want you & miss you so much darling. The last time I was home we were talking about when you'd be home.
