Jan 4, 1946 My dearest Carroll, Hi darling! Here goes [with] a little bit of news & alot of loving. The New Year has begun with a bang. We have been so darn busy & for why I don't know. I've been on call every nite and we've worked every nite until 12:00. Only one good thing about it. Makes time fly by so fast I can't keep track. Time will never go fast enough until you are home [with] me. Four days of the New Year gone. As you've noted I can't get used to writing 1946. This is our year darling. No 2 people could be happier than you & I honey -- no matter what. I'm going home today on the 2:20 train. Guess I'll get off at Washington cuz Dad has to work this Sun. & won't be able to come home for the weekend. I didn't plan on going home but Miss [Wunchel?] came up to sur-
