[letterhead] January 17, 1946 My dearest Carroll, Hi darling! There's isn't much news since I wrote last nite but today when I came on duty I had 2 letters from you, written since you've moved. I hardly know just what to say darling to try and make you feel better. Darling, darling, what can I do, what can I say? When you feel so low and blue so do I. I feel so much a part of you that I do. From what you say about demobilization and what is heard here in states is so different honey. They say that anyone with 45 pts. or 2-1/2 years in service will be home or definitely on their way by April 30. But what you say. It just can't be darling. I know our chance is coming soon darling. I love you deeply with heart & soul. I'll always love you this way
