January 27, 1946 My dearest Carroll, Hi darling! Sun nite & a very quiet one here at the cottage. The "hour of Charm" is on the radio now. Playing all of Jerome Kern's music & it's so pretty. Got up in time for supper today & what a surprise to everyone. I usually sleep till they get off at 7:00. It's warmer out than it has been cuz was it ever cold this AM when we came over here. I wasted no time getting to bed cuz it was the warmest place I could find. We were abit late off duty today too. Seems everything happens about 7:00 & I can find a million & one things I should do. For some reason tonite when I got up I forgot to put my watch on & the clock on the mantel has stopped. I keep
