Saving...
January 30, 1946 My dearest Carroll, Hi darling! Today about noon I was sound asleep but I was dreaming I was on 3rd floor in hosp & everything was going wrong. And I was worried to death. Then all of a sudden a crash-bang & I jumped up & couldn't imagine what had happened. My roommate came banging in dragging a chair & the reason was -- she bro't me my mail. Two wonderful letters from you! You see I told her whenever I got mail from you to wake me up so I could read it. Of course I usually have to reread them again when I get up in P.M. cuz I'm half asleep before I remember just part of it. But today I remembered every bit of it. One said you should be sailing at least by Apr 30th. That's the best you've said yet darling.
