February 7, 1946 My dearest Carroll, Hi darling! What a day this has been. I slept till 1:00 when every one came over from dinner hour & they always [barrel?] in & say "You don't want to sleep do you?" As if I could if I wanted to. Last nite was my nite off & Johnnie one of the gals from here just got home from service & is discharged, so we had a regular "bull session." There were about 12 kids here & we started to play poker & it wasn't good believe me. But it was fun. We won't go into the money I lost but we can get paid again just anytime. One more like that & my Mother will disown me. Honestly, honey, I've had the darndest time the last wk & half. I've had aw awful case of laryngitis & they've made more fun of me. For 2 or 3 days I had to whisper all
