[Letterhead] February 9, 1946 My dearest Carroll, Hi darling! Sat nite & I'm on duty. It's about 2 AM & all is quiet except for couple young kids in the reception room that came in & used the telephone. Both are feeling abit high & making plenty of noise. Before I'll have to politely usher them out the front door I fear. Since I've been on nites more people have wandered in & called a cab from here. Just like a hotel -- this place is. Gee, this was a lonely Sat nite. Everybody was gone & nothing was right. My roommate had a date & she just knew she wasn't going to enjoy herself & she griped around all evening. When he did come she wasn't ready so I had to sit & play double sol [with] him.
