February 3, 1946 My dearest Carroll, Hi darling! Sun. nite & [Hammy?] & I just got up short time ago. We were so tired this A.M. Felt as if I'd really been beat up so we just slept till we woke up. I haven't had a meal all day & I'm beginning to be slightly on the starved side. Enough said of my poor condition which really isn't bad but I like to make it sound that way. And how are you darling? I don't sound well at all do I but I am really. Last nite I worked 7-7 and was it a rat race. Kids & Kids & I had an argument [with] a Dr. & he politely told me off so I shut up. But [fast?]. I'd hate to ask him what he thinks of me now. Afraid it wouldn't be good. I'll try & catch
