Sept. 3, 1944 Dear folks, Well, I suppose you are all settled back to work at home by now. Sure am glad you took that vacation and saw Ken. You two should know plenty about army life now or at least a lot more. Gives you a good idea of what I’m talking about sometimes. Hope your trip home was as good as the one going down. Sounds like you really took a tour of the camp dad. I’ll try and catch up on what I’ve been doing this week. Mom, we went out and stayed until Tues. afternoon. We dug in on a hill nad after we moved out the artillery used the position as a target. I went to bed early that night because as I’ve said before, you get no sleep on these night problems. Well, since I wasn’t getting enough work another Co. need some mortarmen to help them so I went out with them Wed. morning and got back Thurs. evening. I again went to bed. Made me sore to think of the rest
