Saving...
of the company in camp having a free night. Fri. morning we went out again and didn’t get back until late Sat. afternoon. This problem was a little more interesting for we used real ammo and really blew heck out of things. We were attacking a hill and we had over head fire from artillery, machine guns, mortars, rifles etc. Some of the time we would be within 200 yds. of where they were landing. The artillery is sure rough stuff. I guess that about take care of the week part. Last night some of us went to the early show then to bed. I got up at 10:00 so I had a good long sleep. I just finished a letter to Ken. I guess this brings things up to date. Mom, probably you know that the aid drew names for guys to write to and Pearl Moody drew mine. I got a letter from her last week and it was fine, but I just haven’t had time to answer with my being in the field so much. She said not to write if I didn’t have time, but will you tell her I got it and thanks. Explain why I can’t answer will you.
