June 7, 1944 Dear Folks, This will be rather short as I have plenty of work to do. These guys don't give us time to turn around. I'm on guard tonight and I'm writing this down at the guard house. I have to walk a post around the motor park. Guess I wrote last Saturday so I'll start from there. I stayed in Ozark Sat night and got up at 7:00 and came back to camp. We had to get the motors ready for inspection. I worked from 8:00 AM till 9:00 PM. Monday night we did odd jobs till lights out. Last night we took a hike in a rain storm. Tonight I have guard. Tomorrow
