You had better start building an Ark is the river keeps on as it has been. Do you think I'd better bring along a life raft if I every get a chance at a furlough? I'd like to see [Thorp?] in the army down here for awhile. He wouldn't lat two days. Nothing would tickle me more than to be a Sgt. over [Thorp?]. Wow! WE have another 25 mile hike either this week or next. that is something nice to look foreword to. All the fellows are wondering why the north ever fought the Civil War to keep the south in the Union. Probably after this war we will get together and throw it out. I wouldn't live down here if I owned the whole state. Just take me back north.
