Saving...
June 15, 1944 Dear Folks, Today is "Infantry Day" so we got the day off. We had a Divisional parade this AM and were finished by 11:00. The rest of the day is ours. It is now 2:00 and I've just started to try and catch up on my letter writing. So far, I washed two pair of fatigues and a pair of leggings. No I can settle down and write my letters. I just heard today what the plans are for the future. They may not turn and and probably, but this what they told us. We really go to work now and get ready for some sort of tests July 8. Then we go into advanced training and live in the field most of the time. If things go ok through all this then we go to Louisiana for maneuvers Oct 29. That is a long way off yet so anything can happen. Yes dad, the money has been coming ok.
