Nov. 1, 1944 Dear Folks, I don't know just what kind of a letter this will be as the restrictions are so darned complete that there really isn't much to write. I did want you to know I'm ok though and for you now to worry. So far today it as really been swell. As we got in fairly early in the morning they let us sleep late and them came a dinner that is hard to match. It reminded me of my ASTP days. Guess what I've been doing all afternoon, not a thing but playing football. Doesn't sound much like the army does it? All good things have to come to an end so I have to clean my pistol and get ready for retreat now. I suppose Ken will be home very soon? I really had hopes of seeing him, but I'm
