Saving...
Dec 4, 1944 Dear Folks, I hate to write V-mail, but as I said before, stationery is hard to get here. Will you please send me a little as soon as possible? Also see if you can find a scout knife with all the gadgets on it. Had a dance last week which turned out ok I guess. I think we are to have one each week. My plat. played one of the other plat. in football Sun. I was alot of fun and we won 36-6. Still winning you see. We had no equipment and I heard they wouldn't let us play any more. They can shoot at us, but we can't have fun playing a little rough some times. Had classes on German weapons today. It was really quite interesting. Haven't had much mail in the past month. I did get six letters one day and thats all. Should be coming through soon though. Ken should be getting home soon shouldn't he? Hope he doesn't get delayed again anyway. There really isn't much going on around here to write about. We are just messing around in general. We have the living quarters pretty well straightened around now. Its nice to be living in a village even tho there isn't anything here. Let me know if the writing at the top is too small to read. I've never written V-mail before. All for now, more soon. Love, Carroll
