Saving...
April 9, 1944 Dear Folks, I just got out of bed and I'm waiting around for dinner. I'm supposed to meet some of the guys up at the service club after dinner so I thought I'd better get busy and write a couple letters before I go. We were supposed to go to Alabama in the morning but something happened and we aren't going until next Thurs. I wish we would get settled down and straightened around. They have been working the very devil out of us this week. We took a ten mile night march and a twelve miler Friday. We never get through work until 9:30 and then we have to do our own work after that.
