Saving...
rifles and a small handbag. After leaving the train we marched nearly two miles to our barracks. The bed bugs were rather thick but we were all too tired to mind. We moved to a fumigated barrack this evening so maybe it will be somewhat better. I guess I sort of slipped up on your "Silver Wedding". I knew it was coming along but the past few days I don't know if I'm coming or going. You can guess how I feel about it anyway so I won't say anymore about it except that I'm sorry I didn't at least try and mention it in a card or letter. Hope you had a good time at your party. The cake was fine. I have seen very little of the camp but I can guess its plenty hot by the sample today. Quite a few swamps around here I guess. I got the money ok that you've been sending dad and thanks. I have enough to last until payday. Got a letter from Bob & Marjorie and Kay today. They "both" were good letters. I've about given up trying to figure out women. No reflecting on you mom. I've got a lot of people to write so this is all for now. Love Carroll
