Jan. 10, 1944 Dear folks, I hope you haven't been worrying too much over the absence of letters these past few weeks. I'll give you the reason why a little later on. Right now I'll go back a few weeks and catch up with the news. I managed to get to London on pass while I was in England. Five of the fellows and I went in together. That is one of the wildest places I've ever been to and I think you know what I mean by wild. It was pretty bad. I saw alot of buildings that had been bombed out. You've seen plenty of pictures of that though. I saw the Palace and West Minster.
