Saving...
in front of our lines to a place where the Germans had been messing around. We laid out there for three hours after dark, but no one showed up. Could have been exciting. Gives a person a funny feeling to be out there between the lines with just four other fellows. I suppose you get used to it though. Things are pretty quite out now with the exception of an artillery piece firing once in a while. Just heard that the Russians were within 91 miles of Berlin. Does that ever sound good. If that keeps up for long the Germans will be a pretty sorry bunch. Did I tell you I'm not the possesor of a mustache? You'd get a laugh out of it. I haven't much to write about so I just as well sig[n?] [cut out] little business to [cut out] plenty ok so [cut out] me. Everything is fine and dandy. Love, Carroll
