Saving...
Sept 1, 1943 Dear Folks, I am sitting in the guardhouse waiting for my shift to come around. Thank heaven I'm not locked in it but can leave when my job is done. I am lucky though for all I have to do is sit by the door to guard prisoners rather than walk a post. I got a letter from Ivan yesterday and he seemed to be getting along fine. I'm sure he likes it ok. Also heard from Rose and Maxene. there is a thermometer on the wall inside here and it says 100 degrees even. In the shade thats not bad at 7:00 in the evening. Today we reviews the machine gun in everything we've had on it.
