Saving...
here all the next week, thank heavens. Those night marches are no fun. Last night we were attacked with tear gas on the way here. Wore our masks for about a mile. Tomorrow is the day of rest for us. I guess we don't do anything. All next week will be spent on machine gun and mortar tatics. I figured up and in the last full week we've gotten a little less than 30 hrs. sleep. Not much sleep for the amount of work we do is it! We eat C, K and D rations sometime during the bivouac. We already had C and they weren't bad. D rations is a little bar of chocolate about like a bar of lux soap. Very high in calories and shouldn't be eaten fast for that reason. I haven't seen the K type yet. I went on a raiding party myself the other night. Some of us sneaked up on another companies mess truck and got some food.
