Saving...
Sept 23 Dear Folks, Got your letter this evening mom so thought I'd get one written right back. Not much news to write about. About all that has happened of importance is our party. We started out by having a wonderful supper. The battalion officers ate with us. We even had table clothes. I'll try and tell you what we ate. Roast beef, mashed potatoes, gravy, [soup?] beans, peas, two kinds of canned fruit, pumpkin pie with cheese, iced tea, bread, butter, etc. It was really fine. After eating we went to the Recreation Hall for our party. We had a one-horse band plus some other entertainment. They got to drinking beer pretty fast so Bill, another kid and I went to a movie. I think we had a better evening and probably felt better today. If you are planning on writing to Kay maybe I'd better give you her new address. Maybe you already have it. Here it is anyway.
