Saving...
July 2, 1944 Dear Folks, I'm sitting here on my bunk nursing a sun burn which I got to-day. It isn't really a burn, just a little red-another kid and I walked to the lake this morning and stayed all day. It wasn't that easy though. It is only about 3 miles out but I've ended up going about 15. Yes, we got completely lost and walked from 8:00 to 12:00 trying to get there. We couldn't help laughing, but we get enough walking without that. I'll try and catch up with the news now. Thurs. I had classes on the mortar. We learned about how to fire on different targets. In the afternoon I had detail of hawking big cans around camp. Fri. we had more classes about the same as the others. Sat morning we had an inspection and that afternoon we painted the mortars. You already know what happened today.
