Jan 19, 1944 Dear Folks, I just finished all my classes for today so I'll try and get a few letters written. I wrote Ken and Marg all ready today. Yes dad, I'm afraid my studies are as hard as I anticipated and then some. I'm completely baffled by some of them. Last term I had the fellows to help me, but now I'm all by myself. Frankly, I see now way in which I can pass this term even if I studied all the time. I just haven't had enough of this sort of work to get along. Last term I squeezed by but it's getting deeper right along. I wrote and told Ken my situation. It is anything but pleasant. I thought my rest at home might fix me up, but my mind just won't grasp this stuff anymore. I've had so much new stuff thrown at me and still coming so that I don't know which way to turn. I'm restless and more dissatisfied than ever. Alot of the fellows are just giving up and not trying. I still study some of the things I understand but I can't pass on that. I'm giving it to
