Feb 18, 1944 Dear Folks, I just finished a rather tiring job so I'll write a few lines while I'm resting. We had to scrubb our room with soap and also the hall. Nothing much has happened this week as far as school is concerned so thats out. Did you hear the announcement on the radio about them cutting ASTP from 140,000 to 35,000? Its probably a good thing I don't like it. I don't know what I ate to make me sick, but I guess it doesn't matter much now. Mom, it would be swell if you and Kay could come and see me. There are two draw backs though. I probably won't be here much longer. That could be fixed for you could come where ever I might go. Here is the other, I'm not sure she wants to come. Possibly you have talked to her by now and you know that I called her Wed. night. It would be swell if you could come. Nothing could make me any happier. I'll let you mention it to her if you would want to do it. I'mm mention it in my letter too. I sent that suit case full of stuff home today. I guess there is no need for a
