December 13, 1945 My dearest Carroll, Hi darling! I hardly know how to start this letter. I'm so happy & high up in the clouds I just can't tell you my feelings. There just aren't words to express my very deep love for you. Today I rec'd your cablegram. Honestly honey I wasn't good for duty the rest of the day. I was so happy & I had tears in my eyes & kids couldn't imagine what was the matter. Darling, darling you are so wonderful. And I love you from the very bottom of my heart. I'll always love you. More & more my love for you grows. You are my very life. My very being. Everytime today when I would sit down to do something i'd catch myself daydreaming about you, & I and how perfectly happy we will be. I'll do everything in my power to make you happy -- I love you darling so very very much. Last nite we had a wonderful snow. Would
