[Letterhead] December 20, 1945 My dearest Carroll, Hi darling! Today I was reading the paper & saw where pts. for enlisted men were cut to 50 starting Dec 31st Honey, that's getting close, isn't it? Wouldn't it be simply wonderful if you got to come home soon. I'll be the happiest person around, believe me. There is abit of news. Seems as tho I've been on the go constantly of late. Tues. nite we sang carols here in the hosp. Could hardly march in the halls cuz there were so many of us. Was fun & the pts. really enjoy it. The elderly people are really touched by it. Just one thing. We are to sing again Xmas day at 5 Am And she sayd "Miss Burton I expect you to be there." When we were thru caroling the few that helped us out came to the cottage for coffee & fruit cake. We had a jolly little visit. We spent our hours
