December 24, 1945 My dearest Carroll, Hi darling! Xmas Eve tonite and my tho'ts are with you honey. I must admit it honey I've been so homesick for you & home. Just to be near you to hear you talk. I love you so & miss you so much. I'm the luckiest gal there is to have such a wonderful fellow to love me. It's all so real & so perfect. Honey, it's as though I'd always been. Nothing else seems real at all. It's so right, you & I. And I'm so proud & happy. Betty Lou says I'm certainly changed. Says I'm always smiling & happy & I told her I knew why. And so does she. The only reason is you darling. Maybe I should get on [with] what bit of news there is. Yesterday it seemed I kept busy doing odd jobs. Went over to Ruth & Dave's
