December 26, 1945 My dearest Carroll, Hi darling! Did you have a nice Xmas honey? I keep reading in the paper what fellows in Europe might do & I keep wondering what you did. Constantly I wished I were there [with] you or much much better still you here [with] me. Next year we can celebrate Xmas together. Ever since they said points are required to 50 I'm counting high. I won't be disappointed cuz our time is coming soon -- I just know it is. Life with you will be so wonderful. I'm so proud & happy and love you from the very bottom of my heart. But to get to some of the news since I do have a little. Yesterday AM I got up to sing carols & we were busy till noon [with] some emergencies. I hurried off duty & to the train. It had snowed all day & on top of the ice was really bad. Taxi service was not
