Sept 23, 1945 My dearest Carroll, Hi darling! Here goes [with] nothing but alot of loving for one swell fellow. Jeepers, has this been a dreary day. Has rained all the time & got real hot & sultry. I love to listen to the rain but I was lonely. I wanted you here with me darling. Honey in yesterday's paper it said the 66th Div. would be sent home in Oct. By any chance darling can it mean you. Oh how I hope & pray that it does. It said those with few pts. had been assigned to other divisions. Honestly honey, if it does mean you will get home I don't know how I'll control myself till then.
