Sept 22, 1945 My dearest Carroll, Hi darling! Here goes [with] a little news & mighty little. But the important thing I have to say is that I love you darling so very much. I say that over & over & each time the feeling grows [with] it. I never realized I could love anyone as much as I love you. And it's such a wonderful feeling. I'm so happy and proud.
