Darling, thanks so much for my Xmas presents. They were swell. Honey, I almost had to laugh when I saw that pipe tobacco. I could almost see you making faces when you put it in the box. Now I know why you asked me if I still smoked a pipe. At the time I thought you were worried because I was smoking. I understand now darling. As I said before, I don't like to smoke, but I was just messing around with a pipe for awhile back there in France. Guess we got everything straightened out ok, huh? Darling, I wish I could have sent you something. I intended to send you and the folks a wire, but I was too late getting to the place so I couldn't even give you that much of a present. Some day honey, I'll make up for lost time.
