Dec 27, 1945 My Dearest Evelyn, Hiya darling! Just got back from the basketball game and am sitting in bed writing the most wonderful girl in the world. But now for the news darling. Yesterday morning I slept until 11:30. Lazy, don't you think? In the afternoon I just messed around and read a little. The best part of the afternoon was mail call. Had three letters from you and one from Ray. Not only that honey, but one of your letters had a most wonderful clipping in it. Seems that I'm now officially engaged to the swellest girl on earth.
