Aug 31, 1945 My dearest Evelyn, Hiya honey, heres my night letter again. Just a little this and that with much love to the most wonderful girl in all the world. Its been a wonderful day. One reason being that I haven't had to work. The other is that it has been nice and cool all day. A very typical fall day I guess. Not much mail today although I did have a letter from Mom and it sort of brought news of you anyway. You see, Mom sent a picture taken of you and Rose. Gee honey, every time I see a picture of you I get so homesick. I love you so much honey and when I think about not being able to be with you I get so lonely. It was a swell picture
