Sept 2, 1945 My dearest Evelyn, Hiya darling! Here comes news of the old man again. Not much news, but a few words about how very much I love you and that isn't news anymore. Thats just facts. Honest honey, every day I seem to be loving you more than the day before and I mean it. It's a wonderful feeling honey, loving someone and knowing they love you to. I missed writing last night, but I was just so darned tired that I couldn't. I got up early that morning and chased P.W.'s all day long. Didn't get off until late and I just came back and dropped into bed. Wasn't that I worked so but, but it was hotter than heck along with it.
