Sept 6, 1945 My Dearest Evelyn, Hiya darling! How are you honey? I'm ok except for the fact that I'm here and you are there. That really bothers me honey. More than you can possibly guess. Honey there is just one thing I want to be completely happy and that is to marry you. How can I ever tell you how very much I love you by a letter. Evelyn, if anything stand in our way once I get home I'll turn into a raging maniac. I'll be honest or beg, borrow or steal just so you'll marry me. Darling, I love you so very, very much. I'm so darned homesick and lonely right now honey that I could bawl. My mind is like a broken record and it keeps saying over and over
