Sept 11, 1945 My Dearest Evelyn, Hi darling! Guess I'd better get on the ball and get your letter written before bedtime. Won't be long either cuz its nearly nine o'clock. Since I wrote you last night I've been doing the usual things. Went on guard last night from 9:00 till 12:00. That wasn't bad at all. Came back and hopped right into bed. Got up at 8:00 and ate breakfast. Then we had to really clean the tent up cuz they were going to have a big inspection. We passed it ok.
