The truck I was in broke down and we loaded into another one. Finally got there at 9:30. The General gave a speach about how sorry he was to see us break up etc. Eyewash! Then we had the parade. It wasn't bad but it was getting pretty hot by then. After it was over we loaded up and came back. Got in at 1:00. Rushed up to eat and then came back to try and take a nap. Honey, it was just so darned hot today we couldn't sleep in the tent. It was just like an oven. I finally gave that up and started reading a magazine. Came supper time and after that came a good cool shower.
