Sept 27, 1945 My Dearest Evelyn, Hi darling. Time for bed again, but I'm going to dash off a few lines before I hop in. Made out ok on guard last night although I got a little cold. How that wind did blow. Got to bed about 4:30 this AM. I slept until 10:30 then got up so I could eat dinner. Just been messing around since. Played some ping pong and cards. We just finished a big card game. Been playing Hearts & Fantan. Good way to pass the time anyway. Still colder than heck darling and the wind is strong as ever. Guess
