Sept 26, 1945 My Dearest Evelyn, Hiya honey! Here's that letter I promised last night. Very little in the way of news tonight darling. Its been a very dull day. Got up at 6:45 to eat breakfast then came back and cleaned up the tent. The rest of the morning I tried to keep warm. Golly honey, the weather has really turned cold. I've been wearing a jacket all day. Honey, I almost believe I could show some cold feet myself tonight. That wind has been blowing very hard all day to boot. Sure looks like winter is coming - but quick. Went on guard at noon until
