President dies, armies running all over Germany, and S. Pacific war going full blast. Got the letter with the $5. Dad, I don’t need it. Anyway you aren’t supposed to use H.S. money here although you can get about 3 to 1 on it. I’ll keep it along with the other to celebrate when I hit New York or San Francisco. A flight of bombers just went over for you know where. Just now ran out and another group went over. Now another just went over. Big business. Here comes another flight. Nothing much more in the way of news and I want to see what goes on so I’ll sing off. Everything is fine. Love, Carroll
