June 3, 1945 Dear Folks, It has been two weeks since I've written unless I'm mistaken so now I'd better tell you whats been going on. After that you can understand the delay. After VE day we went into the St [Nazaire?] pocket. We stayed at a little ocean town by the name of La Baule. We stayed in a hotel and it is there that I wrote to you last. Things really began moving then. We packed into boxcars and started out. We went through Nantes up to Paris then on into Belgium. I don't remember what town we hit there. We then crossed into Germany at Aachen. That is where so much fighting took place and the place was a mess. From there we went on down to Coblenz.
