the first rain we'd had since coming here and it was really a good one. Hasn't been dusty since. The other lamp got here the early part of the week. I think it was this week. Darned if I can remember. Anyway it got here ok. I'll have plenty of carbide so don't worry about sending any more. Had a roll call at six o'clock this morning. I guess they were trying to catch some AWOL's. We are restricted for the day so they can catch anyone running loose. It has cooled down considerably this past week. In fact it gets darned chilly at nights. The news just came on and there is still now news from the Japs. They are really thinking it over. Probably all busy sharpening up their hari-kari
