Saving...
Dec 3, 1943 Dear Folks, It is now nearly bed time but I still have a few minutes to write a line or two. Got a letter from each of you today, which was pretty darned good. I'm sorry I haven't written more lately but we are kept so darned busy that it is almost impossible to write letters. Haven't been doing much of interest this week. I did have sort of an accident in P.E. I was tumbling and was doing flips off a spring board. I landed on my bad ankle so they had to carry me out. I thought sure I had broken it for a minute. Anyway the doc soaked it in ice water for an hour then shot my ankle full of drug to kill the pain. I've been hobbling around for the last few days and it is still pretty stiff. That first night it really ached.
