Dec 14, 1943 Dear Folks, Guess I'd better get that letter written that I promised you. It is now study hours so I'll have to make it snappy. I'm not completely sure of this but I think we leave Jan 1st for home and have to be back the 9th. I only wish I knew if my grades would be ok. We have GI test next week then U of W finals the next. Those are the ones that mean you do or don't go home. If I need any money I'll let you know. About xmas presents. Just wait and see if I get home. I won't need anything before then anyway. I'll have to wait till I get home or someplace to do my shopping for I don't have time around here. I sure talk like I'm coming home don't I. I only wish I knew. My ankle is so I can walk ok but I
