Saving...
Dec 26, 1943 Dear Folks, Sun evening and then comes the final week of school. Do I hate to see it start. I took GI tests last week but they weren't too important. This week is the one which means your furlough. I took a Trigonometry test the other day and got a pretty low grade so if I don't pull it up with the final I may wait here for the other fellows to get back. The tests start Wed morning and go the rest of the week. I'm really worried about these finals. I spent quite a Christmas weekend. Xmas eve I stayed in and wrote an English theme. All day Christmas, I stayed in and studied. Last night some of us went down to the midnight show. Today I have been studying again. It snowed some today. Just enough to make the ground look a little white. I went down and bought my train ticket this afternoon. There is a special train going east for us. It leaves about 2:00 next Sat afternoon. Here is the deal, the closest I can get to home is Cedar Rapids. You will have to meet me
