May 29, 1943 Dear Folks, I just finished dinner and I guess we have the afternoon off. If you don't have a detail or something you have Sat. afternoon and Sunday off. The way they talk you need it to gain back your strength. I went on a detail this morning. We walked out in the country about 2 mi. and then we cut brush until noon. Of course we walked back also. I am now in my permenent barrack. We moved last night. You can look for my new address on the envelope. We didn't get finished until about 8:00 last night. A big bunch of Mexicans moved into our company yesterday. Boy they really
