June 6 Dear Folks, I just finished and mailed a two page letter to Kenneth. I didn't know if you told him out what I was doing or anything so I went ahead and told him what I thought he would want to know anyway. I got up at 7:30 this morning. It sure felt nice to lie in bed a little while after you were awake instead of making a mad dash to get dressed. In the morning I'm afraid we will get up before 7:30 for I hear it is to be 4:00. We have a lot of work to do. We are going to test our gas masks for fit. We do this by going in a room of tear gas and if you cry you know your mask doesn't fit. Also we are going to be eating from mess kits in the field all next week. Things are really beginning to pop. I am going to a show of some sort this afternoon. Roy Rogers, the cowboy is
